Is There An App That Gives Alerts Of Outside Temperature

Any way to get an alert when the outside temperature hits a certain point?

I'm in Phoenix. Right now, the temperature is cold at night and hot during the day. I love having my windows open but once it starts warming up I sometimes forget to shut the doors and windows and it ends up getting hotter inside than it should.

Is there any way to set a reminder "Alexa, alert me when it is 70 degrees outside" or something? I'm open to writing it myself if it's a possibility.. I just don't know if it is or not, so haven't tried to move forward.

I'm pretty sure you could use IFTTT to do that, and at least use that to get alerts sent to your phone. I use an app on there to get weather alerts for the same reason.

It may be able to send the alert to your Alexa devices too, but I'm not sure. Good luck!

You can definitely get IFTTT to do that - I use something similar to close certain blinds if the temperature rises above a specific level, since it really helps keep the heat out.

I've been trying to figure out a similar thing here in winter, specifically having my alarm adjust to ring 15 minutes earlier on mornings when it's less than freezing and I will have to scrape the windshield.

As someone else said you could use IFTTT. I wanted to also suggest checking out wireless tags to alert you to temperature changes, with or without IFTTT. They have an endless number of uses like this. http://www.wirelesstag.net/index.html

When you set this up, I'd consider picking up some window sensors so it only alerts you if the window's actually open. Otherwise you'll get fed up of getting alerts for something that you've already done.

We just put seedlings outside, and I'd like the same alert if it gets too cold.

I've always wondered this and can never find an app for it, I've even purchased weather apps thinking if I bought one it would have it, to no avail. Seems like a REALLY good way for those apps to be competitive would be to offer something like this.
